McDonald’s of Four Oaks – April Business of the Month

The Four Oaks Chamber of Commerce is celebrating McDonald’s of Four Oaks as April’s Business of the Month. McDonald’s of Four Oaks was nominated for Business of the Month in honor of Mrs. Doris Huebner’s election to the North Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association Board of Directors and in recognition of their contributions to the Town of Four Oaks.

Huebner Family McDonald’s is an independent franchisee of McDonald’s restaurants owned and operated by Fred, Doris and John Huebner. The company was founded in 1986 by Fred and Doris Huebner with the opening of their first McDonald’s in Wake County. The Four Oaks location opened in July of 2011 and currently has over 70 employees. John Huebner is the proud owner/operator of the Four Oaks location. Huebner Family McDonald’s supports many community based programs in Four Oaks. The local schools annually host School Nights at McDonald’s which provides the schools with the opportunity to receive 20% of sales during that three hour period. All of the Johnston County Educators and support staff receive a beverage card each academic year that allows them to receive a free beverage each visit during the school year and the Huebner’s have sponsored with the Four Oaks Parks and Recreation since their opening.

The Four Oaks Chamber of Commerce is honored to recognize the lasting contributions made to the Four Oaks business community by McDonald’s of Four Oaks.  The Four Oaks Chamber of Commerce will recognize one member business each month.  Nominations can be made at the Four Oaks Chamber of Commerce website, www.fouroakschamber.com.

Teachers Lead Four Oaks recipient, Ms. Candace Parker of South Johnston High School

The Four Oaks Chamber of Commerce and HomeTowne Realty are celebrating Ms. Candace Parker of South Johnston High School as April’s Teachers Lead Four Oaks, Teacher of the Month recipient.  The Four Oaks Chamber of Commerce and HomeTowne Realty have partnered to present Teachers Lead Four Oaks, a monthly recognition for Four Oaks teachers.  Four Oaks teachers are a vital part of developing and leading our future workforce and future community leaders. The Four Oaks Chamber of Commerce recognizes teachers who motivate and inspire their students through their teaching practices and their commitment to the community.

Ms. Candace Parker has worked to create a veterinarian tech program where her students assist in local veterinarian offices.  She has also created a pet salon at SJHS and is the leader of their FFA Chapter.

South Johnston High School Principal, Mr. David Pearce, and Assistant Principal, Ms. Cecelia Banks shared as part of the nomination process, “Ms. Parker motivates and inspires her students through her openness and approachability.  She maintains positive relationships with her students and fosters a desire for her students to learn.  Ms. Parker is deserving of this nomination due to her passion for teaching and her desire to see her students learn and succeed in all their endeavors.

Ms. Parker was presented with a certificate of recognition as well as a bag of gifts from many of the Chamber member businesses including HomeTowne Realty, The Vine and Branch, Superior Ladies, AQ Drafting Services, McDonalds of Four Oaks, Four Oaks Interiors, Johnston Health, Scentsy representative Theron Kammerer, Carly Fogleman Photography, Terri Sessoms, June Raynor, and House-Autry Mills.

Missy Medlin, local Four Oaks HomeTowne Realty agent and sponsor of the Teachers Lead Four Oaks Program states, “I am passionate about supporting teachers because I used to teach.  HomeTowne Realty understands the importance of reaching out and supporting our local teachers.  We want to give back through our own discounts to teachers and through this recognition program.”

 The Country Club of Johnston County is a semi-private club offering both golf and social memberships.  It is home to an 18 hole Ellis Maples designed golf course and many other amenities including a swimming pool, tennis courts, driving range, and putting green.  The large ballroom space is perfect for weddings, receptions and other events.  Outdoor event space is also available for rent.  The Country Club of Johnston County has the ability to host and plan golf tournaments and has been serving our community since 1936.  The Country Club is located on Holt Lake, 1 mile from Hwy 95.

Allen & Son’s Custom Cabinets are a local family owned custom cabinet shop established in 1970 by Donald Allen, who began building cabinets in his back yard, and developed a reputation of quality and attention to detail that not only brought customers back over the years, but also their children and grandchildren. Donald’s son’s, Donnie and Ronnie have continued the dynamic standards expected from Allen and Son’s and build cabinetry to meet the dreams and needs of the customers. Allen & Son’s cabinets are constructed of solid wood, with no MDF or pressboard substituted anywhere. The Blum full extension undermounted tracks and soft close hinges on the cabinet doors are standard, not upgrades. Hardware and installation are, as always, included. Teachers Lead Four Oaks Recipient, Ms. Susan Adams of Four Oaks Middle School

The Four Oaks Chamber of Commerce and HomeTowne Realty are celebrating Mrs. Susan Adams of Four Oaks Middle School as March’s Teachers Lead Four Oaks, Teacher of the Month recipient.  The Four Oaks Chamber of Commerce and HomeTowne Realty have partnered to present Teachers Lead Four Oaks, a monthly recognition for Four Oaks teachers.  Four Oaks teachers are a vital part of developing and leading our future workforce and future community leaders. The Four Oaks Chamber of Commerce recognizes teachers who motivate and inspire their students through their teaching practices and their commitment to the community.

Four Oaks Middle School Principal, Mr. Tol Avery, and Assistant Principal, Ms. Sarah Lewis shared as part of the nomination process, “Mrs. Adams builds rapport with her students so that they seek to learn and dig deeper into social studies.  She leads by example by being a lifelong learner and continues to motivate her students with her enthusiasm in and out of the classroom. She is the school’s soccer and softball coach.  She has also just assumed the role of athletic director and has partnered with many outside agencies to garner their support for the school’s athletic program.  Businesses, families, and community members feel part of the school community because of her outreach.  Mrs. Adams is a seasoned teacher who diligently seeks opportunities to get the best out of her students on a daily basis.  She tries innovative ideas to inspire students to develop a love for learning.  Mrs. Adams not only loves her students, she loves the Four Oaks community and seeks to merge it with the school to make each a better place.”

The Johnston County Visitors Bureau is the official destination marketing organization representing all visitor attractions, hotels, camping, dining, shopping, meetings, festivals and events in JoCo….all these make up the components of the tourism industry that bring visitors to our county. Our funding is primarily provided by the 3% room tax paid by visitors while staying overnight in accommodations, some grants, and the JoCo Hospitality Association which is membership based. We invite you to engage with the JCVB staff and call upon the Tourism Authority to build our communities through tourism – visitors bring dollars, support jobs, and drive demand for commercial development. Business of the Month for March is Holt Lake Gas and Grill

The Four Oaks Chamber of Commerce is celebrating Holt Lake Gas and Grill as March’s Business of the Month. Holt Lake Gas and Grill was nominated for Business of the Month in recognition of their beautification and renovation efforts. Tony Braswell, Owner, and Tonya Rodriguez, General Manager, have worked hard since 2016 to improve the look and service provided by Holt Lake Gas and Grill. They have remodeled the outside canopy and the front face of the building, installed new lighting, increased the food options available at the grill, and upgraded the inventory and customer pay systems. Mr. Braswell is very proud of the work put into the business and is appreciative to Ms. Rodriguez for her support.
