Teachers Lead Four Oaks

The Four Oaks Chamber of Commerce strives to develop and support business and community leadership and recognizes that Four Oaks teachers are a vital part of developing and leading our future workforce and future community leaders.  The Four Oaks Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with program sponsor HomeTowne Realty, will recognize teachers who motivate and inspire their students through their teaching practices and their commitment to the community.

 

2018 Teachers Lead Four Oaks Recipients

The Four Oaks Chamber of Commerce and HomeTowne Realty are celebrating Mrs. Misty Barrett as June’s Teachers Lead Four Oaks, Teacher of the Month recipient.  Mrs. Barrett was presented with a certificate of recognition as well as a bag of gifts from many of the Chamber member businesses.  The Four Oaks Chamber of Commerce is honored to recognize the lasting contributions made to the Four Oaks community by our teachers.

Four Oaks Middle School leadership shared as part of the nomination process, “Mrs. Barrett seeks to know her students before she teaches them. Based on this understanding, she creates activities, lessons, and projects to help the students understand the content being taught.  Mrs. Barrett goes above and beyond to take her students to business, restaurants, and other places in the community to not only show the students how to contribute within their community but to also support the local Four Oaks businesses.”

The Four Oaks Chamber of Commerce and HomeTowne Realty have partnered to present Teachers Lead Four Oaks, a monthly recognition for Four Oaks teachers.  Four Oaks teachers are a vital part of developing and leading our future workforce and future community leaders. The Four Oaks Chamber of Commerce and HomeTowne Realty are celebrating Mrs. Emily Crews as May’s Teachers Lead Four Oaks, Teacher of the Month recipient.

South Johnston High School leadership shared as part of the nomination process, “Mrs. Crews motivates and inspires her students by believing in them.  She allows them to share the vision of what art looks like to them by listening and letting them create their art.”  Mrs. Crews has implemented a SJHS art night which is held monthly at the school.  The SJHS community is invited to participate in this monthly event.  For more information please contact Mrs. Emily Crews at 919-894-3146.

The Four Oaks Chamber of Commerce and HomeTowne Realty are celebrating Ms. Candace Parker of South Johnston High School as April’s Teachers Lead Four Oaks, Teacher of the Month recipient.

Ms. Candace Parker has worked to create a veterinarian tech program where her students assist in local veterinarian offices.  She has also created a pet salon at SJHS and is the leader of their FFA Chapter.

South Johnston High School Principal, Mr. David Pearce, and Assistant Principal, Ms. Cecelia Banks shared as part of the nomination process, “Ms. Parker motivates and inspires her students through her openness and approachability.  She maintains positive relationships with her students and fosters a desire for her students to learn.  Ms. Parker is deserving of this nomination due to her passion for teaching and her desire to see her students learn and succeed in all their endeavors.

Ms. Parker was presented with a certificate of recognition as well as a bag of gifts from many of the Chamber member businesses including HomeTowne Realty, The Vine and Branch, Superior Ladies, AQ Drafting Services, McDonald’s of Four Oaks, Four Oaks Interiors, Johnston Health, Scentsy representative Theron Kammerer, Carly Fogleman Photography, Terri Sessoms, June Raynor, and House-Autry Mills.

 

 

 

The Four Oaks Chamber of Commerce and HomeTowne Realty are celebrating Mrs. Susan Adams of Four Oaks Middle School as March’s Teachers Lead Four Oaks, Teacher of the Month recipient.

Four Oaks Middle School Principal, Mr. Tol Avery, and Assistant Principal, Ms. Sarah Lewis shared as part of the nomination process, “Mrs. Adams builds rapport with her students so that they seek to learn and dig deeper into social studies.  She leads by example by being a lifelong learner and continues to motivate her students with her enthusiasm in and out of the classroom. She is the school’s soccer and softball coach.  She has also just assumed the role of athletic director and has partnered with many outside agencies to garner their support for the school’s athletic program.  Businesses, families, and community members feel part of the school community because of her outreach.  Mrs. Adams is a seasoned teacher who diligently seeks opportunities to get the best out of her students on a daily basis.  She tries innovative ideas to inspire students to develop a love for learning.  Mrs. Adams not only loves her students, she loves the Four Oaks community and seeks to merge it with the school to make each a better place.”
